Worker's Rising March & Rally

Beginning at US Bank (800 Nicolett Mall, Minneapolis) at 1:30pm & Ending at Minneapolis City Hall by 2:30pm
Join hundreds of Minneapolis workers, many people of color who lack basic workplace protections like paid sick days and fair scheduling, as we collectively call on the City Council to pass strong ordinances for earned sick and safe time and fair scheduling. Standing in resistance to the brutalization of Black and Brown bodies also means standing against our current economy. Together, we embrace our opportunity to build a Minneapolis that honors the sacred dignity of every person. Together, we can build an economy that honors our bodies and spirits. Organized by our partners Neighborhood Organizing for Change (NOC), CTUL and others.

7:00 PM
-
Minnesota Council of Churches Service of Remembrance, Repentance and Healing after Charleston at Central Lutheran Church  (333 S. 12th Street, Minneapolis)

We must practice the theology of resistance, which is saying no to hate in the name of the GOD of LOVE. We must reclaim our prophetic role of calling out evil and calling people back to GOD. We must prayerfully and generously surround our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ during this time of attack and trauma with actions of love, support and solidarity.

MISSION TO THE CITY
JULY 19-26, 2015
Mission to the City (MTTC) is an urban mission trip to Minneapolis and St. Paul; two cities becoming “international harbors”. Our goal is to foster change and bring hope to the city by building friendships and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with people of all backgrounds. Come share your life and make a difference this year!

SPECIAL FROGTOWN FOCUS
This year, the primary focus will be the Frogtown community, consisting of service projects, sharing the gospel, educational opportunities, a "Discover your City" tour of St. Paul, and much more. This will be a great opportunity to experience urban ministry, and this could be the foundation for an exciting future church

ISAIAH Week of Righteous Resistance

GFMBC Family,

ISAIAH Week of Righteous Resistance
July 10th- July 15th
In light of the immoral attacks on Black churches in recent weeks, thousands of faith leaders across the country will stand in resistance to the continued brutalization of Black and Brown bodies and spirits through police brutality, hate crimes and through an economy that consistently exploits workers of color. Join the Week of Righteous Resistance (http://www.livefreeusa.org/worras we respond to the tragedy of the destruction of black churches and resist the evil of white supremacy! Here are opportunities and actions in which you and your church can participate:

STAY WOKE: “Kids for Cash” at New Creation (1922 26th North Ave., Minneapolis), 7pm
This is a youth-friendly movie and discussion on what happens when money, race, and injustice shows up in the juvenile justice system. Join us with your youth groups as we learn about racial and class injustice, how it looks in Minnesota, what we can do to change it and alternatives to incarceration.
