2016 Journey Into Holiness
14th Annual Women’s Retreat

September 12, 2016

Dear Greater Friendship Women of God and Friends,

It is that wonderful time again to prepare for our annual fall Women Retreat.  This annual event will be held Thursday evening through Saturday, October 27 - October 29, 2016. We will meet at Crown Plaza Hotel, MSP Airport, MOA, 3 Appletree Square, Blooming-ton, MN. Then on Sunday, Oct 30, 2016, we will be celebrating our annual Women Day. This is a fifth Sunday. Therefore, we will have Sunday School at 09:00 and Worship at 10:15 a.m.

We are so excited and looking forward to our 14th year of learning and growing to be Holy women of God as we travel this holiness journey. So, come let us celebrate, and en-courage other women to come whether a member of Greater Friendship or otherwise.  We are praying that those who attend will be healed with God’s Precious Power.  Our topic for this year will be Journey into Holiness:  Finish what you started (The book of He-brews, especially chapter 12:1-2). We are also asking you to read:  “A Lineage of Grace” by Francine Rivers. Again the author has captured the attention of the reader with her sound and thought provoking stories of “five novellas on the women in the lineage of Je-sus Christ”:  Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary. She has also included study sec-tions at the end of each novella. Please take time to answer these questions. We will be discussing these study questions during the retreat.

Please complete the registration form along with your non-refundable deposit, and return it to the church office or Ms. Bernadette Hebert as soon as possible.  Your registration amount will be applied to your total registration fee. If you do not have access to the reg-istration forms reply to this email of your desire to attend. You may also online at:

Again, please come, be blessed, and give yourself a treat by attending this wonderful, Holy Spirit-filled, God blessed retreat. “Bring all your troubles to the Lord.”  His way is easy and His burden is light.

Yours in Christ,

Theresa Russell, APRN, CNP, PN
First Lady

You are invited to a national call with
Senator Elizabeth Warren
And Faith Leaders and Community Activists at the forefront of the national struggle to Stop The Debt Trap

When: Tuesday, September 27th
8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central / 6 p.m. Mountain / 5 p.m. Pacific
Click below to participate. (Call-in instructions will follow.)
Please join faith leaders and community activists from across the country fighting to stop debt-trap lending for this crucial conversation with Senator Warren.  As the end of the public comment period on the CFPB’s proposed payday loan rule nears, we will discuss why a strong national rule is so important to people of faith and community activists. In addition to Sen. Warren, we’ll hear from borrowers, pastors and faith leaders committed to making sure the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau puts forward and enforces a strong and effective rule.
Now, more than ever, we need to make sure payday lenders, auto title lenders, and high cost installment lenders and their allies don’t succeed in further weakening the proposed rule or undermining the CFPB’s authority and enforcement ability. We need to be moving forward to get rid of abusive, usurious loan products, and ensuring a fair marketplace for consumers.
Sponsoring Organizations Include: Americans for Financial Reform, Center for Responsible Lending, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Ecumenical Poverty Initiative, National Baptist Churches USA, People’s Action, PICO National Network, Rhode Island State Council of Churches, Stop The Debt Trap, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
